Pick applicable options for your designed gimbal
The Geo-Location Option means that the OTUS gimbal will have a software function capable of outputting the GPS position of the viewed object centred in the video or IR image. For this function to work, it is required that two external sensors are connected to the gimbal:1. An external GPS sensor providing the position of the vehicle (e.g. the position of the base of the gimbal).2. An external heading source providing the heading of the vehicles (e.g. the heading of the base of the gimbal).
The Geo-Tracking Option means that the OTUS gimbal will have a software function capable of locking the LOS onto a GPS geographical position on theground. Hence the gimbal can be commanded to move to and maintain any given geographical position centred in the image.This option requires the Geo-location option.
The OTUS gimbal itself doesn’t require any export license. For instance, you don’t need any export license, if you just go for a gimbal with an day-light camera.Some IR-cameras require an export license. We have a number of different alternatives.
1. IR-cameras with limited frame rate (9 Hz) don’t require any export licenses.2. IR-cameras in full frame rate from FLIR in USA, e.g. TAU-640, require an ITAR license. The ITAR license takes 60-90 days to get from the US government. DST need to apply for this license at order and both the end-user and the consignee (you) have to sign an EUC and describe the project.3. IR-cameras from a European supplier, hence our own SAITIS-640 or the RAVEN-640 from Xenics, are classified as dual-use products. These IR-cameras require an European export license, but only if you export out of EU. You apply for this license in the exporting EU country. The Export Agency in the exporting country requires an signed EUC of the end-user and a description of the project. It normally takes 4-6 weeks to get the license.
