Ground Control Interface

GCI

The Ground Control Interface, GCI, is an optional component
for installation on ground or in manned aircraft cockpits. The
purpose of the GCI is to decode the digital video stream
from the SCU into a format (e.g. HDMI) compatible with more
industrial monitors. Another important purpose is to display
KLV metadata from the SCU on the video as an overlay or as
symbolic data on a geographic map. The target as well as the
aircraft can be shown as symbols on the map.
Also, the GCI implements the communication protocol for
remote control and monitoring of the OTUS-U gimbal. Hence,
the gimbal unit can be
controlled by means of a
standard controller with
an USB port.

• Compatible with all OTUS-U gimbals
• Compatible with the new digital HCU
• Video streaming over Ethernet (H.264)
• Gimbal communication via Ethernet
• KLV metadata overlaid on video stream
• Customisable video overlay
• Target selection
• GIS support functionality
• Dual HDMI outputs
• Supports standard controller interfaces e.g. USB
